FOUNDATION PART TWO
An expert growth agent applies a repertoire of knowledge and skills for engaging teachers in productive formal and informal learning-focused conversations. This interactive seminar continues the exploration of the growth agent’s role. Focus on increasing fluency with the tools and templates for engaging learning and customizing conversations. Learn to apply a problem-solving conversation template to increase capacity for effective instructional problem solving and decision making.
Four two-hour virtual sessions extend the foundation tools and templates for coaches and mentors familiar with learning-focused conversations. The course combines these 8 hours of on-line learning with 4 hours of independent asynchronous work.
This seminar will include demonstrations and models from virtual and face-to-face environments.
Participants will:
- Explore strategies for applying the Continuum of Learning-focused Interaction to customized, differentiated conversations.
- Extend verbal and non-verbal skills with focus on inquires for clarifying vague language and goal paraphrases.
- Enhance fluency with learning-focused conversations that maximize time, focus attention, and support and challenge thinking.
- Engage with a problem-solving conversation template to increase teacher readiness and confidence in owning and resolving professional issues.
Classes are limited to 30 participants.

Prerequisite: Part One and/or previous experience with Learning-Focused Relationships
